The dataset was digitised from 5 volumes of the monograph series "Scleractinia of Eastern Australia". The dataset contains 329 species, from 267 collecting stations all located within Australian waters. The dataset was digitised by Evanthia Karpouzli of the ALA and using the ALA Spatial Portal and the ALA Gazetteer Service. All the locations were verified by John (Charlie) Veron.
